The focus of this Summer School will be to explore the ways in which geopolitical formations (e.g., the emergence of the EU higher education space and the Bologna process) and related funding and regulatory mechanisms have reshaped the meanings attached to doctoral education and to doctoral work in relation to larger regional and international processes. Also, we will explore the emergence of new forms of doctoral programs, either as professional degrees or as online and distance-based ones, within expanding global markets in the fields of higher education.

The aim is to bring together researchers and graduate students to explore selected aspects of doctoral education, in view of publishing and edited volume.
